The dalliance between Uhuru’s led Jubilee Party and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is over if her sentiments are anything to go by.
Bishop Margaret Wanjiru joined Jubilee Party after abandoning ODM saying at the time "I want to go where I am celebrated not tolerated".
The former Starehe MP ambition to be the next Nairobi governor was dealt a major blow when she managed to come a distant third with only 7,654 votes in the just concluded Jubilee party primaries.
Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko emerged victorious having garnered 138,185 votes. The Bishop is now accusing the Nairobi Senator of reneging on a pact that would have seen the winner deputized by the loser.
Sonko posts on social media are indicative of the kind of running he would prefer working with. The controversial Senator has been courting billionaire businessman Jimnah Mbaru and former County Executive Officer of Water John Gakuo in a bid to have one of them act as his deputy as he preps to square it out with the incumbent Governor Evans Kidero.
This new development has irked Bishop Wanjiru who will run for the Nairobi gubernatorial as an independent candidate. She’s said to be now more inclined to work with Raila Odinga and NASA. Wanjiru was overheard telling her aides that it was unacceptable a woman of her stature to spend the night at a police station after all she has done for Jubilee.
