Raila Odinga's Car Smashed in Kakamega County

The windscreen of a vehicle carrying Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga was on Friday smashed after riots erupted during a tour of Kakamega County.
Odinga found himself in trouble after he tried to address residents of Mumias East but a section of Jubilee supporters led by area MP Benjamin Washiali protested the move.
Mr Odinga was accompanied by Governor Wycliffe Oparanya as they visited the area for a meeting of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) aspirants and delegates.

The MP is one of the Western region leaders who have openly supported the government and even vowed to lead a revolt to wrestle the Opposition stronghold from the CORD coalition.
This comes just a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta toured neighbouring Bungoma County during the inaugural graduation ceremony of Kibabii University where he is the Chancellor.

The visit by the two national leaders had excited area residents who expressed hope that development projects would be launched in the area.
