Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Nominated Member of Parliament Wilson Sossion has slammed former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto for decamping to Jubilee from the National Super Alliance.
The trade unionist stated; “He has betrayed a course that he started. What happens to the devolution of 45 percent of national revenue which he started? He should tell Kenyans that he was only playing with their conscience.”
This was in reference to a trademark push by Mr Ruto and his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party for revenue allocation to counties from the National Treasury to be increased from 15% to 45%.
The Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General noted that there will be no vacuum in NASA following Ruto’s move adding that the support the party enjoyed was not because of the former Governor.
He explained that with the defection of Ruto he will now be spearheading National Super Alliance (NASA) campaigns in the South Rift region.
“We have planned campaigns in Bomet and several places in the Rift Valley and we are sure of good reception,” Sossion noted.
Sossion explained that the defection by Ruto and Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno was mainly for selfish gains and did not have the interest of the people at heart.
“It is clear now that Ruto and his team have decided to betray Kenyans for selfish interest,” he submited.
Isaac Ruto was officially welcomed to Jubilee in Kericho last week, a month after he lost to Governor Joyce Laboso in the Bomet Gubernatorial contest.
When I looked over my shoulder I found myself alone and that is why I decided I cannot lead only a few people to Canaan I am now back home (Jubilee).
Sossion and Ruto have been close friends as they both hail from Bomet County.
