Babu Owino, whose real name is Paul Ongili is in trouble as Kikuyu elders in Thika slaughtered a lamb without blemish and burnt its meat to ashes in a ceremony on Tuesday to curse Babu Owino.
The council said the Embakasi East MP disrespected President Uhuru Kenyatta and his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta, whom they noted is an elder.
The elders cursed Babu, at Mama Ngina gardens and peaceful protests in Thika town. They mixed the lamb's blood with milk, honey and other substances before spilling it around the fire while performing a ritual. That smoke from the burnt offering rose to the sky meant God had accepted their sacrifice, they said.
Leaders and members of the public have been up in arms following Babu's apparent reference to the President as 'mtoto wa mbwa'. The MP said he did nothing wrong as he did not name anyone in his address. He added that referring to someone as a 'puppy' is not abusive.
