Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has refuted claims that he intends to join a movement formed by politicians who lost in the Jubilee primaries.
Speaking on Wednesday for the first time since his defeat in the Jubilee Party primaries to Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, Kabogo dismissed the allegations as mere rumours.
He instead stated that he will make a major political announcement as to his political future, in a week's time.
He added that the announcement would include details on whether he would be seeking to defend his seat as an independent candidate after losing to his archrival for the seat, Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu.
The governor pointed out that despite the loss, he was proud of the accomplishments his government had made especially in the past four years.
Kabogo had earlier in the week, while conceding defeat to Waititu, claimed that powerful forces within Jubilee wanted him out of the contest for the Kiambu seat and did not want him as governor.
"Rumours are that I am a threat to someone. I do not know whether that is true...I want to say I don't agree with this nomination exercise. The petition is with the party, they can do whatever they deem fit to do," he stated
The Kiambu Governor was yesterday inspecting construction of a modern reproductive health unit at Thika Level 5 Hospital.
