Hundreds of Busia residents took to the streets to protest against attacks on the Supreme Court judges by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
They also warned politician Paul Otuoma against joining Jubilee Party, saying his career will be over if he does so.
"Uhuru should not arm-twist the judiciary, which is an independent body. Our brother [justice] Smokin Wanjala should be respected. He is educated and his papers made him join the Supreme Court," Nangina MCA John Obwogo said as he led demonstrations on Friday.
He asked Uhuru to respect leaders, adding that he is not the only one trained in using abusive language. Obwogo said the Supreme Court ruling nullifying Uhuru's re-election made it clear that the August 8 polls were stolen. He said they are ready for the repeat polls scheduled for October 17.
