Traces of explosives found in Egyptair crash - investigators Reports

Egyptian investigators have revealed that traces of explosives have been found on the remains of victims of an Egyptair flight that crashed en route to Cairo from Paris. The flight MS804 plunged into the sea on 19th May killing all 66 passengers on board.
Despite the new finding that provides a lead into the investigation, French officials have however warned against drawing conclusions on the cause of the crash.

An Egyptian source familiar with the matter said Cairo had informed France months ago of its findings but French investigators had requested more time to study them. The investigation into the disaster had been hampered by disagreements between the French and Egyptian experts and a dispute over the return of the bodies of the French passengers.

Based on the audio that was retrieved from the flight recorder, presence of fire on board the plane in its final moments is said to be evident, with analysis of the flight recorder showing smoking in lavatory and avionics bay.
France’s air safety agency BEA, however stated that no conclusions could be drawn on what might have caused the accident.

The Egyptair flight disappearance came only months after a Russian airliner flying from Sharm el-Sheikh was brought down by a bomb over the Sinai Peninsula, killing 224 people in October 2015, and is still under investigation. The attack was however claimed by the local affiliate of Islamic state.
Since the crash, small pieces of the wreckage and human remains have been recovered, while the bulk of the plane and the bodies of the victims still believed to be in the water.

The disaster which claimed the lives of 40 Egyptians, 15 French people, 2 Iraqis, 2 Canadians and one passenger each from Algeria, Belgium, Britain, Chad, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Sudan, has not been claimed by any terror/militia group.
