The grandson of the late former Cabinet minister
Njenga Karume, Kenneth Wathugi Karume, has been charged with the murder of his
38-year-old girlfriend Victoria Kamania.
Wathugi appeared at the Milimani Law Courts
before Justice Jessie Lessit where the prosecution opposed his release on cash
bail and bond terms over claims of witness interference.
The case will be mentioned in two weeks time for the
parties to argue over his release on bail or bond terms, after which the
case will be heard on September 13 and 14, 2016.
