The leader of the opposition coalition Nasa Raila Odinga has made his first public appearance after the announcement of the presidential election.
On Sunday afternoon, Mr Odinga and top leaders of the coalition visited Kibera slums, which was one of the areas that were hit by violence on Friday night and Saturday following the announcement of the results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
“We are here to say sorry for what happened yesterday (Saturday) and the day before (Friday). They have stolen our votes and now they are killing innocent people,” Mr Odinga told the crowd.
Mr Odinga also asked Nasa followers and supporters not to go to work on Monday.

“That is called impunity. We have witnessed brutality and blatant theft by the government,” he added in his brief speech.
Siaya Senator-elect James Orengo, who also spoke to the gathering, called for peace and but also demanded for justice while at the same time blaming the Kenyan media for skewed coverage of events following the conclusion of the elections.
“All we want is peace, but peace with justice. The local media is not reporting the truth,” Orengo said.
Others who accompanied Mr Odinga were MPs elect Ken Okoth (Kibra), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North) and Gladys Wanga.
The leaders were later scheduled to visit the Mathare home of 10-year-old Stephanie Moraa who was reportedly shot dead on Saturday morning while during protests in the slum.
