The nation is still struggling to
come to terms with the sudden passing of Miss World Kenya Nyamira County
Mercy Mokeria who died on Saturday, January 28. Nyamira County, Mercy Mokeira passed
away in Kinangop hospital where she had been admitted since mid January
2017.
Reports say that she was undergoing treatment of an undisclosed disease. She came in limelight after her clicks with Lang’ata Women prison went viral online
Her father, Josephat Momanyi, told journalists that Mokeria had complained of muscle pains but preliminary results failed to show the disease she was suffering from.

Mercy Mokeria graduated Kenyatta University (KU) in June this year with a Bachelor Degree in Law.and she was crowned Female Model of the Year at the Pwani Awards.
She became popular after she and Miss Kenya Siaya County Sharon Halima took photos with inmates whom netizens considered “more attractive” than them
The news saddened Nyamira County Women Representative Alice Chae who mourned her death. Alice said, “It is sad that I have learnt the untimely demise of Mercy Mokeira, a vibrant young lady who was focused to take our county to global stage through her modelling passion.”
