East Africa popular Bongo singer Snura Mushi laments that she still do not understand why Tanzania’s BASAT did not give her permission to shoot the video.

Snura’s video, Chura , was banned by BASAT (Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa), a body that governs art practice in the country, due to its erotic nature.

In an exclusive interview with 255 on XXL show , Snura revealed that she had edited the banned song and taken it for approval before she could shoot it.

“I made several follow ups to know the outcome of the board; it took so much time. When they finally called me for feedback, they said the video could not be shot.”

On her part, the musician felt her new work is worth shooting since she had made a cleaner version with native scenes.

“They said the new version still has exotic scenes. I fail to understand why because according to me there are two different things,” Snura explained.

Earlier on, Snura had been in the headlines for almost being clobbered for refusing to perform the banned song at Masasi in Dar es Salaam.

Chura, has since gone viral online after it was released.
